FUCK MARRY KILL ODER DAS WARTEN AUF GERTRUD ODER DAS TREFFEN DER 100 WUNDERKINDER
October 12/13/14/15 2023

“Waiting for Gertrud or the Meeting of the 100 Child Prodigies” examines the content and discursive nature of the songs of 100 female composers from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Unjustly forgotten, female composers are hailed as child prodigies during their lifetime, but do not find their way into the canon of music history and are systematically erased from the chronicles of music historiography.

The negation of the artistic abilities of female composers has a long tradition and continues to have an impact today. The evening examines the reasons for this and organizes the discourse. Taking up the idea of the contentious salon, an ephemeral archive of songs of all genres and languages is created, transcultural and cross-stylistic. Together with an actress, a pianist, four singers and a girls' choir, we examine the song's political, aesthetic and social explosiveness.

How can we understand the artistic work of female composers as a fundamental part of classical music and not as a gender-specific exception? The FUCK MARRY KILL team is re-researching the musical past and the artistic future.

Berlin Atonal

KRAFTWERK
September 11/12/13/14 2023

For Berlin Atonal 2023, a new site-specific work titled Humanities (2023) by Laxlan Petras, Amber Fasquelle and Yasmin Saleh was commissioned and premiered at Kraftwerk Berlin. In Humanities, Petras, Fasquelle and Saleh work together to create an ecosystem where live performance and a visual installation create cohesion in the spatial context of Kraftwerk Berlin (the former Mitte hydrothermal powerplant), exploring harmony (or lack thereof ) between species, living organisms and objects.

SALON L’ÉCRITOIRE/ KUNSTHAUS KULE
December 20/21 2023

We would like to invite you to a very special program featuring works by Alma Mahler and the epic melodrama Enoch Arden by Strauss on December 20 & 21 in Berlin.

In the spirit of honoring a lost art, we have chosen a program that allows us to celebrate two things we both feel deeply passionate about maintaining in our musical and non musical lives: celebrating the work of female composers, and encouraging the practice of reading.Pianist Lana Suran and Amber Fasquelle perform a 19th century based program between Alma Mahler and Richard Strauss, attempting to expose lesser known works from both composers.
