The Californian-Italian Mezzo-soprano, Amber Fasquelle, is a leading innovative artist of her generation. Her work as a singer spans the depths of operatic repertoire from Baroque, to Strauss, to Bel canto, and Lied; representing the flexibility, purity, beauty and power of her instrument .
Her versatility of artistry manifests itself not only through opera, but through collaborations in contemporary and experimental performance art as well.
In the 2025/26 Season, Amber joins the Ensemble of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as Oktavian in Der Rosenkavalier, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, as well as another leading role in Baroque-Festival Schwetzingen's opera Alcibiades as Aspaspia.
For her European debut after winning the 2018 competition of the Opera Foundation in New York City, Amber joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin. With the company Amber performed various leading and supporting roles including highlights as: Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Flora in La Traviata, and The Musician, with Simon Rattle, in Manon Lescaut.

In 2019 Amber was invited by Placido Domingo to join his Opera Studio in Valencia Spain. In 2021 Amber finished her time in Spain on a high note as one of 12 finalists in the international Montserrat Caballe Competition.
Amber has also worked closely with Theater Freiburg and the Cincinnati Opera, and taken part in world premiere music festivals where she performed leading roles with: Aspen Music Festival, Opera Theater St.Louis, and the Britten-Pears Aldeburgh festival.
Born and raised in San Francisco California, Amber cherishes the El Salvadorean and Italian roots of her family and holds both American and Italian citizenship.
She trained at the Oberlin Conservatory, and Cleveland Institute of Music and pursued her graduate degree at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of music.
At the young age of twenty three she was invited to join the Opera Studio of the Paris Opéra de Bastille.
She holds minor degrees in French and German from the Case Western Reserve University.
She is deeply grateful to the mentors who helped found her vocal artistry: William McGraw, Vinson Cole, Sheri Greenawald, and Thomas Quasthoff.
